 A naturally green, inorganic compound that is a non-corrosive
liquid, quickly penetrates to dissolve frost, snow and ice
accumulations from a wide variety of surfaces. Its melting
action does not generate any heat, and it will not cause
damage to the surface or leave a residue. Is non-burning to
surrounding grass areas. Can be used prior to or after ice and
snow accumulation.
Use for ice and snow removal agent on highways, bridges, and
other roadways. This product may also be used as a
prewetting agent for granular deicers, where it acts to reduce
the tendency of these products being swept off the road before
deicing begins.

About coverage. There are many variables to give a definite answer to the question but you should get about 200 sq. ft. coverage with three inches of packed snow per gallon.
